Local Youths Enhance Knowledge On ICT Through Bangkok Seminar

Bandar Seri Begawan - To Identify strategies and effective methods in using ICT to promote Asean, four youths from the sultanate left for Thailand to attend a seminar on 'Usage of ICT to promote Asean Spirit' at the Grand Mercure Fortune in Bangkok from March 17 to March 20
The four-member delegation comprises Dayang Mazriyani binti Hj Abdul Ghani, senior systems analyst of the national E-government centre of the Prime Minister's Office, Dayang Rodziah binti Hj Yussof, Manager of Information Technology Section, TelBru Sdn Bhd, Dyg Siti Nuraini binti Pengiran Hj Tajudin and Awang Chong Youn Bao, fourth year student at UBD, who is currently taking up the Bachelor of Computer Science degree. The seminar, which is coordinated by Thailand, is one of the projects under the Asean COCI. Some 40 participants from various Asean nations are expected to attend the event
Among the programmes laid out for the seminar are discussion sessions on the proper and detailed plan of employing ICT to boost the Asean spirit and the summary of effective strategies and techniques to use ICT to promote Asean.
The delegation will be conducting visits to the telecommunication and satellite companies as well as ICT institutions on the second day.
