Alhamdulillah, the result of the moon sighting in Brunei to determine the beginning of Syawal was announced this evening. It seems that the baby moon (anak bulan) Syawal could not be sighted and therefore 1st Syawal will fall on Thursday 2nd October 2008. This will coincide with a family member's birthday. To find out who, please refer to the family calendar ;-)
To Pak Poh, who will celebrate his birthday tomorrow (1st October 2008), happy birthday and may Allah bless. Amin.
To Achum and Zayani in the UK, the Eid celebration has already begun today, Tuesday 30th September 2008. Selamat Hari Raya to both of them.
